Assassination, like the word 'sex' in the Victorian ages, is absolute taboo on the American political landscape. It's acceptable to produce sadistic Terminator and Rambo films, mass-market violent video games toward children, and sell guns and candy in the same store, but link the word assassination to politics and you instantly become branded an agent of its possible manifestation. The real revelation here is that many people still walk the tightrope over a racial divide. How painfully evident that has been during the 2008 Democrats Civil War. And history shows that whether on the political podium or in the schoolyards America has a real gun problem. Political assassination speculation seems reserved for one candidate - Barack Obama - potentially the first black President of the USA. 2007 Nobel Prize winner Doris Lessing outspokenly claimed they would kill him. World champion fighter Bernard Hopkins, alias the Executioner, also passed sentence. Jesse Ventura has added his concerns. And the television host Harry Smith was berated for mentioning to Ted Kennedy that, "Sometimes agents of change end up being targets. Doesn't it make you at all fearful?". Whilst Lessing and Hopkins are playing the race card, other commentators have suggested more subtle connections that target Obama above the other candidates. His campaign has cleverly and effectively utilised marketing ploys that connect Obama with Abraham Lincoln, and a youthful JFK. He has also been compared with Martin Luther King. It's all hero status here, but with one common and unsaid subliminal factor. The most thoughtless and irresponsible comment came from Republican Mike Huckabee, addressing the National Rifle Association. Responding to a loud noise backstage Huckabee joked that it was Barack Obama evading somebody aiming a gun. Doesn't it defy belief that this was actually coming from a presidential candidate? WHAT'S IN AMERICA'S CHART? The US Independence Day (July 4 1776 @ 17.10 LMT Philadelphia) horoscope puts the planet of guns, bullets and violence, Mars, in a tight square with covert and cryptic Neptune. This can certainly be a trigger for cloak and dagger public assassinations. It also adequately describes the covert and shadowy political influence of the gun lobby in US policymaking. On June 6 1968, as transiting Mars moved across the US birth Mars, and transiting Pluto met the US Neptune, Robert Kennedy was slain whilst running for the Democratic nomination. It could be said that the killing was evident in the country's horoscope. The victim's chart would also have to link with the US Mars-Neptune to make him a target. In Kennedy's case it was via the planet of sudden surprise in Uranus. Earlier that year Dr Martin Luther King was also assassinated. King's Mars was joined to the US Mars and therefore also squared the Neptune. And this is where I think the collective psyche fits Obama into this picture - with the Mars and Neptune connection. You see it wouldn't really matter whether one was white, black, blue or brindle, judging from the purely astrological viewpoint. The astrological factor is that Barack Obama's Mars is on the Neptune and squares the US Mars. That links him into this consciousness. Like Obama, Bernard Hopkins, (the boxer who made the controversial comments), also has his Mars on the US Neptune and therefore squaring its Mars, despite their birth dates differing by four years. The most talked about political assassination in US history was the Dallas shooting of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, at 12.30 pm on November 22 1963. That day JFK's secondary progressed Mars was at 21 Gemini, spot on the US Independence Mars, and the transiting Mars was directly opposite at 20 degrees of Sagittarius. So clearly the Mars Neptune square has dangerous overtones. HILLARY'S BAD TIMING
"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it." Transiting Mars and Uranus were highlighting the US Mars-Neptune square, exact to the very day that Hillary uttered those words. The collective conscious (Neptune) reflexively invoked the assassination gremlin. No-one was killed, but rumours abounded of subliminal conditioning and Freudian slips, as the elephant in the room suddenly re-appeared. The predictable reaction was to put Hillary on the pillory. Rare is the awareness that reasons "often what we're looking at, is what's doing the looking." The fact is Clinton made the same reference to the same question in March, before the planets aligned, and they barely made a ripple in the media. RESEARCH ON PRESIDENTIAL ASSASSINATIONS I, along with many other political astrologers, have conducted extensive research on Presidential deaths and assassinations. My individual conclusions was that they again were linked with the planet Neptune, being in hard harmonic eight aspect to the USA Midheaven in seven out of eight deaths in office. The last time the planet made this aspect was mid 2004 through 2006. In that time ex Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford passed on. Critical times nominated in that article were May 2004 and September 2006. In Georgia in May 2004 an attempt was made on George W. Bush's life when a hand grenade was thrown into a crowd during his address. Perhaps more in the nature of Neptune was the British film, "Death Of A President". The production, eerily planned for general release on January 20 2009, used digital graphics to simulate the assassination of current US President George W. Bush. Although critically acclaimed by some, it was banned throughout the US, and publicly panned across the political spectrum, with Hillary Clinton one of the most outspoken opponents. The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10 2006. Not only did Neptune still aspect the Midheaven of the US horoscope, but on that day Mars was in hard aspect to Neptune. And again, nobody was killed, but the same subject permeated national consciousness. So it doesn't have to happen, for the spectre to be raised.
There's also a more persistent message coming from this. A message that Bob Dylan so poignantly sung in the lyrics, "how many times". Surely there is enough blood on Capitol Hill, where legislation could easily stem the flow. But as long as the right to bear arms is held in the same reverence as a right to life, little will change. When a car sales promotion can offer a free gun as an incentive to buy, a semblance of sanity and balance is called for. Any life, be it a leader's or a student's, is too high a price to pay for a country's worship of the gun. One would hope that Barack Obama, as a true agent of change, can help make effective gun legislation more than just a Neptunian dream. His horoscope suggests he could have a crucial role to play. But he's not alone. Hillary may not have Mars, but she does have her Moon and Uranus connected to the Mars-Neptune square (assuming 8 am birth), which may be another reason she's astrologically drawn into the issue. John McCain has his Venus and Saturn right on the Mars-Neptune square, regardless of time. So we may hear a lot more of the gun debate, until a real dream team finally acts.
