LIBRA INGRESS 2006

THE LIBRA INGRESS

The entry of the Sun into one of the four cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn marks the beginning moment of the seasons. The sign of Libra, represented by the setting Sun, is activated when the Sun moves across the equator to begin it’s southward journey to its lowest southerly declination, the tropic of Capricorn. It suggests a balance point, when both sides of an issue surface longing for objectivity and integration. This is not always the case of course, often the differences are irreconcilable. In this case, that which is out of balance is brought to judgement, under the Libran scales.

The below article dissects the principle planetary factors involved in the Ingress chart, and where they may play out. In short what might make the news over the next couple of months. Positively this Ingress does not look as volatile as the last. The Libran Ingress will fall September 23 2006 at 04.03 UT. The Moon, which is also in Libra has almost reached Mars. This combination makes for more volatile public emotions, and its proximity to Mercury (the communication planet) makes for lively international debate. We’ll see more than the usual agitated threats at ten paces. It’s time to get feelings off the chest at home and internationally. Patriotism will run high.

The Moon/Mars rises over Israel/Lebanon and Syria, and culminates above North and South Korea and the China coast. We’ve already witnessed the last Ingress fire the Middle-East into action, see Cancer Ingress article. These energies are admittedly not so damaging. But they make dialogue difficult, and may further agitate the North Korean nuclear issue, China and Taiwan, Timor’s fledgling independence and rebellious uprisings in Indonesia. Important nuclear degrees are active around the middle of October suggesting the controversial energy source will dominate news headlines.

Jupiter, normally a beneficial expansive planet, this time increases the likelihood of conflict, water and oil concerns, marine incidents, and infections. Jupiter is prevalent on the Indian subcontinent, across the Pacific islands, including the Solomon’s, and through California.

The principle planetary energy triggered in the Ingress is a pronounced T-Square involving Jupiter, straddling a Saturn and Neptune opposition. My concern is with how it may affect stock prices toward the end of October when the Jupiter/Saturn square becomes exact, and we also have Mars affecting Venus. This tends to a sharp trend reversal but one would imagine disappointing hopes, rather than raising the bar.

In the Saturn in Leo article on this site I have dissected much of the Saturn Neptune opposition energy explained below.

THE SATURN NEPTUNE OPPOSITION

On August 31 2006 at 10.11 UT, the Saturn/Neptune opposition reached exactness, to recur on both the 28th of February and 25th of June 2007. In reality these dates are simply guidelines as the opposition was certainly in operation from the Full Moon of August 9.

Saturn operates through structure, control, system and order – it is the rock of the traditional past. Neptune’s mission is to dissolve rigidity. Like water wearing away the stone it will inevitably change the shape of the social structure, as surely as a river winds it’s way through the rocky mountain. Neptune’s social idealism lies in stark contrast to Saturn’s regulated restraint. At best Neptune’s transcendant spirit resurrects the doubting Thomas that is Saturn. At worst it takes the sacrifice of the many to ‘roll away the stone’.

One of the major characteristics of the opposition is the fall of autocratic leaders and antiquated social orders. The opposition coincides with the establishment of the Glorious English Republic of 1649, the French First Republic of 1792, and this particular cycle began in 1989 with perestroika and the fall of the Berlin wall.

But the opposition is vital clue to Jewish history. It was there at the destruction of the Second Temple occurred during the reign of Emperor Titus in 70 AD, and inspired the legend that of the suicide fortress that was Masada. It was on this mountain rock that modern Israeli army recruits took their oath of allegiance.

Saturn/Neptune has presided over the Arab wars, officially beginning April 15 1936 in rebellion against the western establishment of modern Israel. It was there when on September 13 1970 when four international jet airliners were hijacked by the PLO Black September, to protest the dispossessed Palestinians. We can safely assume that Saturn/Neptune will take the Arab/Israeli wars up to the next level.

As history reflects planetary cycles there are other obvious manifestations. Increased petrol prices, and resultant inflation, leading ultimately to higher interest rates and threatening the tight control of the economy looks an inevitability. As authorities seek to restrain (Saturn) the over-consumption of oil (Neptune), and maintain the value, we may eventually witness a similar situation that prevailed following the last opposition in the 70’s - petrol rationing.

The Australian petrol company of Ampol was formed under these auspices in on March 23 1936, and also the ACTU backed Solo in the 70’s, which helped break the cartel of major petrol companies. Solo eventually sold off to Ampol, which is now Caltex owned. And so, forgive the pun, the wheel turns.

INDIVIDUAL VERSUS STATE

Politically, Neptune rules socialism and the common collective. Saturn represents capitalism and control of a different order. As these planets move toward opposition, a widening gap between the right and left political wings across the globe will need to be addressed. These planets have also proved integral to China 's modern history. They tied in with the Boxer rebellion, the Japanese invasion of the mid-thirties, and the 1989 Tiananmen Square tragedy. Authoritarian administrations have the most to lose now.

The opposition aspect has not only spelt a changing of the guard for world leaders, but most pointedly the British Royals. The death of Queen Victoria, demise of King George V, the renunciation of King Edward, and then the passing of Edward are prime examples. Even Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at a beginning of a Saturn/Neptune cycle. In this light, Prince Charles' succession intentions should surely become plainly evident from now onward.

Medically, a Saturn/Neptune combination has been linked to pandemics such as Spanish Influenza. The medical world will work overtime to combat such threats, along with the omnipresent bio-terror risk. And Neptune, of course, rules chemicals, oil and the sea. We will see stricter controls in this domain as well as over seaways and water supplies. Water rationing, damn building, confronting pollution issues are all part of the mix.

During the last Saturn/Neptune opposition, President Nixon became the first US leader to visit China. The gap between East and West was greatly diminished. In the lead up to the Beijing Olympics relations between US and China will obviously assume similar importance.

Saturn’s opposition with Neptune begs for balance between spirit and the material world. That’s the planet's message to our planet, on a collective and individual basis. The Industrial Relations Act is the perfect archetype to polarise Australian political system. But Australia’s greatest problem during this Ingress period will be international relations with south-east Asian and island neighbours - Indonesia in particular. The Timor situation doesn’t seem to want to diffuse and Fiji, along with the Solomon’s, could be of greater concern. Again the mid to late October period seems to be the time window involved.
