The Yearly 2008 Horoscope for Sagittarius

The Big Picture
Having your home planet, Jupiter, moving through your sign last year opened up new and expansive opportunities for you. You spend much of this year building on those initiatives. Like no other sign, life has to offer an adventure to you. If not you go out and create one. And whilst this is bound to give you an interesting autobiography to write, it can also spell lost opportunity through restlessness. That’s why it’s important this year to take stock, and develop a greater sense of patience and perseverance, and consolidate your position over the next twelve months. Jupiter, aligned with growth and development has entered your money house. More directly it should allow you access to greater resources than before. Saturn is placing higher demands on your professional status, but greater responsibilities generally align with a more senior or administrative position. Together you can set yourself up for the long tern with these two, but it's not the planets who'll be doing the work!

Romance and Relationships
With the majority of outer planets in the subjective first quadrant of your solarscope you’re quite capable of living the life of a hermit. Not many of us choose that option of course. But this placement clearly shows that relationships are very much on your terms. So this is not the time for seeking difference to feel whole, instead it favours taking those on board with similar ideals who can complement your own self-development. That may seem quite logical to you, but it’s not always the case. We learn just as well, and expand our relating capabilities by embracing difference. But the early part of the year may find you more at work on your own plans. That all changes by the end of May when the relating houses are well supported tending to bring other people to the fore until at least early July.

Career and Finance
You resonate to that saying, ‘if he’s so smart then why ain’t he rich’. Because intelligence and riches don’t necessarily equate. A lot of dumb people have money. The accumulation of wealth has as much to do with sacrifice, application and repetition as anything else. This year you can go that one step further with that in mind. The two behemoths of the solar system, Jupiter and Saturn are in your money and career houses respectively. People are willing to pay for your experience. If you do the hard yards the rewards should come your way in bulk. There are times when this works better than most. Late January and all September through to early December are the main periods. You’re discovering the value of the sacrifice, the application and the repetition. And although it isn’t exactly your life motto, you realise that it can set you up for greater freedom later.

Self Improvement
Last year I talked about two distinct types of Sagittarian. The first exhibit a jovial approach that rebuffs the battering life gives, and keeps them focused positively on the future. They are inspirational. The others adopt a self-righteous approach. The other person is wrong; they know all and refuse to change tack. They are confrontational. The enlightening messages from it are, ‘humility is the getting of wisdom’, and ‘sometimes silence says more than a thousand words’.  

Obviously your power areas concern career accountability and expanding your resource base, plus increasing financial opportunities. You are called upon to take a very pragmatic approach and not let hard won gains slip through your fingers. This is a year of consolidation, where at time progress will be slow, but as long as it’s sure it doesn’t matter. A snowball takes a while to build, and when the hard work has been done, it’s all downhill from there. In a good way of course – so get rolling!
